Colors Blocked

Sweater: Old Navy {similar here; lusting after this J. Crew option};
Denim: Old Navy; Rainboots: Hunter; Bracelet: J. Crew Factory
Bangles: Kate Spade, Gifted; Earrings: Kate Spade

Wah wahhhhhh. Office photos. On the phone. Lowest of lows here and I apologize. Was running out of the house this morning after taking too long to wake up and deciding to make too many things for a super paleo breakfast. Oh, yeah- I'm trying the paleo thing. My whole family in Cali is doing it and my Dad has lost like 25 pounds, so I'm inspired.

I may go so far as to document some of my paleo adventures in the kitchen as well. I recently tried out this recipe for mini breakfast frittatas. I am a HUGE fan, however I highly recommend using the prosciutto. I used bacon because I was too lazy to go buy prosciutto at 10:00 at night when I attempted these, so the frittatas stuck to the bottom of my tin and now I've been soaking the damn thing for 3 days to be rid of egg remains. Yuck. The things are delish though, and so super simple to refrigerate and then throw in a bag and re-heat in the microwave at work in the mornings, especially for someone who is always running late ::cough, cough::

Here's an image to tantalize your tastebuds . . . or not. Maybe you don't like frittatas, in which case, you will NOT like these. But I do . . . so you have to stare at them:

Thrift Shop Series Part III: Winter Uniform

Sweater: Mac & Jac {thrifted}; Minnie Pant: J. Crew;
Scarf: Old Navy {thrifted}; Flats: Kelsi Dagger {old};
Earrings: J. Crew {old}; Ring: Kate Spade

It's just totally ridiculous that I scored that brand-spankin'-new-with-the-tag-still-on plaid scarf AND this mac & jac sweater while thrifting as a Fashion Ambassador at Value Village. Still can't get over it. I'm actually looking forward to hitting up a different store hopefully this weekend. New location = new finds! Right? This look is probably as comfy as it gets while still looking professional enough for work. This roomy and cozy sweater pairs well with tight, cropped pants and a sparkly pair of flats . . . might repeat this look a time or two. Happy Hump Day!

And so I introduce you to another one of my favorite finds while shopping at Value Village for my first thrifting experience (shared in this post here). I still can't believe that I scored this cable knit in my size. It was the only one there and the ONLY thing we found that was J. Crew. It was meant to be :) This cute and classic combo is destined to be on repeat for me throughout the holidays. Happy Tuesday! XO

"Yakkity Yak! . . . don't talk back!" Isn't that a song? Either way, this hat screams, "pay attention to me." The folks over at YAK contacted me recently to provide a special giveaway to my readers! A winter hat of my choosing would be provided to me to review and then share with you folks. I chose the purple faux fur-lined pom pom trapper hat and I have to say that it certainly exceeded my expectations in terms of both fit and warmth- it's snug and generously lined with fur to keep your ears as warm as possible. As much as I'd like to keep this hat for myself- I'm giving you the opportunity to sport it this holiday season instead!

If you follow 'Pops of Pink, Glitter, and Gold' via Google Friend Connect then you are already automatically entered :) If you'd like an additional entry, follow me on Instagram at elisechristine12 or leave a comment below sharing what you'd sport the purple faux fur-lined pom pom trapper hat with! If you would like an opportunity to win this hat and don't already follow this blog, then simply "follow" on Google Friend Connect (located in the toolbar on the right-hand side) and you'll be entered! The giveaway will close exactly one week from today :) Good luck and Happy Cyber Monday!

PS: YAK is currently offering a 75% discount on ALL merchandise! No coupon required. How's that for a deal? ;)

Thrift Shop Series: Part I

About a month ago, Value Village reached out to me and asked if I would be a fashion ambassador for them. I was hesitant at first, considering I had never really thrifted, however I've seen the incredible finds that people have walked away with and thought this would be a fun opportunity to embrace the potential thrifter in me. So last Sunday, my friend K and I took a trip to one of the VV's near my home with $200 of VV gift cards in hand. I have to say, I was so glad K was with me because I was pretty overwhelmed in the beginning. She had a systematic way of going through the store since she had lots of experience at the VV in college, shopping for ridiculous animal sweaters and Halloween costumes.

In the spirit of Black Friday, I thought it would be appropriate to share my first thrifting experience with you. I came away with some great stuff, including the below: an authentic DvF scarf for $2.99 and a beautiful gold elephant head bangle for $7.99. I also scored an awesome J. Crew cable knit sweater in bright orange which I cannot wait to wear.

Can't wait to wear this!

Panels & Peplum

Top: Nordstrom Rack {recent}; Skirt: ASOS; Shoes: Zara;
Ring: Bulgari {borrowed from Mama Bigley}; Bangle: Thrifted
Sunnies: Karen Walker; Nails: OPI

Photos c/o Daddy Bigley {Thanks Dad!}

Happy Thanksgiving! You guys, there are real photos on this blog! Woo who! Special thanks to Daddy Bigley who took these this morning. This skirt proved to be the perfect subtle transition to wearing leather. The cotton fabric on the sides makes it less "dominatrix" while the panels in front make it edgy. Pairing this skirt with the peplum was a home run in my book and I'm a definite fan. I'm happy to be blogging from home in sunny California! I hope you had a wonderful holiday!

I am thankful for my daily readers and those who have stopped by this blog! Much love to you and yours! XO

Easy Airport Style

Blouse: Old Navy; Vest: J. Crew; Skinny Cords: J. Crew;
Loafers: Michael Kors; Bracelet: Alexis Bittar

When my boyfriend and I flew to Minnesota a few weeks back, this was the outfit I wore to travel/take flight in. It's always a little difficult to choose what to wear when flying. When I was in college, I'd board the plane in oversized men's college sweatpants, a Juicy hoodie, UGGs, and big fake diamonds in my ears. All topped off with a messy topknot. Looking back- I'm minorly disgusted that I thought it was appropriate to go out in public this way. Today I try to choose pieces that are comfortable, yet also have a sensible level of sophistication about them. Switching out jeans for cords adds a little extra something than the usual blue denim, while a colored-quilted vest can keep you warm and cool in a way that a peacoat cannot. I'll undoubtedly be wearing some version of this tomorrow as I jet-set off to Cali for the Thanksgiving holiday. CHEERS!

Holiday Spirit

Top: ASOS; Minnie Pant: J. Crew; Shoes: Christian Louboutin {in black here};
Bangle: Thrifted! {more on that later}; Earrings: Kate Spade

Sorry I'm not sorry. Although I have refrained from listening to Christmas music- I just can't help busting out the holiday plaid. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I couldn't resist pulling out a pair of beautiful J. Crew tartan pants on Saturday. They were a huge hit at our Friendsgiving party, and an even bigger hit with me because I pretty much want to wear them every day. I don't care, I'm mad for plaid! Happy Monday! XO

PolkaDot Peplum

Top: Living Doll {via Nordstrom Rack, recent; lusting after this one!};
Blazer: NastyGal {gifted}; Denim: Hudson; Shoes: Vince Camuto;
Sunnies: Karen Walker; Earrings: J. Crew;
Bangles: J. Crew Factory, Kate Spade, gifted

I'm kind of obsessed with this top. As my first peplum purchase ever, I could not have been more thrilled when I came across this last week with Lara at the Nordstrom Rack event. I think I might have squealed out loud a little bit. It is peplum perfection. The leather polka dots give it the perfect edge and I can't wait to pair it with a leather pencil skirt and some sky-high stilettos! Happy Friday and thanks for reading!

City Cowgirl

Turtleneck: Forever 21 {old}; Skirt: Forever 21 {old};
Boots: MIA {via DSW; old, similar (and cuter) here}; Necklace: J. Crew;
Bangles: Ocean Leather, Kate Spade, Gifted

Scarf: Purchased in Scotland; Jacket: J. Crew

I bought these cowboy boots for one reason and one reason only . . . to attend the Tim McGraw and Lady Antebellum concert roughly 2.5 years ago with N. Since then, they have been residing in the back corners of my closet, never being used because I just wasn't that into them. Now that my beloved Miz Mooz are getting fixed, I pulled these puppies out of the recesses of my closet, and I have to say- I don't hate them half as much as I used to. They add a fun flair to a lace pencil skirt for sure ;)

Tour Guide

Blazer: J. Crew; Blouse: J. Crew; Skirt: J. Crew Factory;
Shoes: Dolce Vita {old}; Bangles: Alexis Bittar, Kate Spade {gifted, similar here}, Ocean Leather;
Earrings: J. Crew {old}

While indulging in some late night television recently, I came across the 'Friends' episode where Joey gets a job as a tour guide at the museum where Ross works. After pulling together this outfit this morning, I realized that I kind of looked the tour guide part- what with the blazer and conservative (yet playful) skirt. I shook it up with some print mixing for good measure by pairing a striped blouse with the polka dot skirt . . . can't say I mind it ;) Happy Hump Day!
